COVID-19 Disclaimer: Your Health Is Our Priority

Due to this unprecedented health crisis, NSU is taking steps to be able to safely serve our students. We are strictly following guidance from the CDC, Florida Department of Health and the Broward County Health Department. At this time, all patients are being screened as they enter our on-campus clinics. If you are a student, please be prepared to answer additional questions to ensure your safety and the safety of our staff.  Visitors, including other students, will no longer be allowed to accompany patients, and all patients are required to wear masks.

COVID-19 is changing our world, and we’re changing with it. We offer telehealth appointments for your convenience at our medical and mental health services through secure, HIPAA compliant platforms. You will receive an email with all relevant information after your appointment is scheduled. Telehealth appointments are covered through most insurance plans at the same rate as in-person office visits.

You should seek medical attention immediately following an exposure incident.

An exposure that might place Health Care Providers at risk for Hepatitis B Virus, Hepatitis C Virus, or HIV infection is defined as a percutaneous injury (e.g., a needlestick or cut with a sharp object) or contact of mucous membrane or non-intact skin (e.g., exposed skin that is chapped, abraded or afflicted with dermatitis) with blood, tissue or other bodily fluids that are potentially infectious.¹

If you have concerns regarding an exposure that occurs while on campus please contact NSU’s Infection Control Coordinator, at (954) 262-7306 or (954) 262-7352.  If you are unable to reach the on-campus infection control office, please proceed to your local emergency room.
